Garage and yard sales cannot be held for longer than three consecutive days and must be held between 9:00 a.m. and sunset.  In the event of inclement weather, the permit may be reissued for a later date.  For a multi-family sale, each household requires its own permit.

Signs advertising the sale may only be posted on the property where the sale is taking place. Signs may not be placed on city property.

• Please bring proof of residency and identification when completing an in-person application. 

• If you are unable to come into the ward office, you may scan and email a copy of your identification and a completed form to ward45@cityofchicago.org.
